Day 17

Throat gets dry and sore by the end of the day. Swallowing doesn't hurt. Yawning still hurts. Sneezing doesn't hurt anymore but is different than when I had tonsils (snot is more likely to fly to be exact.)  Coughed a lot last night from the scabs. Some light bleeding this morning. Making progress.

  1. Looks like I stopped at day 16. Things got busy and I felt much better even if my throat still looked icky. I did eat a normal Thanksgiving dinner. 4 years later, doing great!

    2. Frances, I see I am a month late in catching this post! I did cough alot as the scabs got "older" then, I had the unfortunate situation of catching a cold around day 22 that turned into bronchitis, and so I'm not sure how much coughing is normal. I assume you are back to 100% now; I sure hope so !

  2. Day 7 and I feel like my ears are about to burst and bleed! Did you use anything to sooth it? Thank you x

  3. Yikes, again too late to help but for current tonsillectomy patients, placing ice packs on the sides of my neck under my jaw, seemed to help with this type of pain. Advil and sudafed is what I would take for congested ear pain if ice packs don't help, but that's just me. Also drinking cold drinks, eating popsicles etc. might help as well as a humidifier (just be sure it's very clean). Some Vicks Vapor in the humidifier might be helpful as well.
